About Paul Stonehouse

Paul Stonehouse is the founder of Travel Sports Truth, a free, independent resource that helps parents understand the real costs, contracts and college odds in youth travel sports.

He coached youth travel soccer for 14 years in California and the Chicago suburbs, and spent 13 years as a travel sports parent writing the checks. He built Travel Sports Truth because families kept asking him the same questions, and nobody independent was answering them.

Travel Sports Truth covers eight sports: soccer, hockey, baseball, lacrosse, basketball, volleyball, competitive dance and cheer, and flag football.

No sponsors. No club affiliations. No ads. Nobody pays him a dime.

Topics Paul Can Speak On

• The real cost of travel sports: what families actually spend, sport by sport, and where the money goes
• Stay-to-play and hidden fees: tournament hotel rules, buyouts and the lawsuits parents have filed
• Contracts, refunds and release clauses: what parents sign and what it means when they try to leave
• College odds and recruiting: the real numbers, scholarships, and the new NCAA eligibility rules
• Investors in youth sports: what the wave of private equity and venture money means for families

The Short Version

"Everyone is covering what's wrong with youth travel sports. Parents need someone to tell them what to do about it. That's what we do."
